Romdrive Ltd. trading as West End and Rutland Travel is a family owned coach and bus company situated in Melton Mowbray,
a market town in Leicestershire.
A modern fleet is operated from The Coach and Bus Centre from Dixon Drive,
off Leicester Road in the town. Our company prides itself on the presentation of our fleet (our cleaning staff start
at 4.30am) and we invest heavily on our vehicles and in our staff.
A very loyal and conscientious staff are complemented
by our own training facility. A variety of work is undertaken, for some prestigious customers. School runs (home to school)
are operated on behalf of Rutland County Council, of which we are the major supplier, and Leicestershire County Council. We
also operate wholly subsidised contracts for Leicestershire County Council and we operate our own commercial routes in and
around Melton Mowbray.
Our local services in Melton Mowbray are all using Super Low Floor Dennis Darts (MPD's) as is the 23 service to Nether
Broughton. We have a Plaxton Primo on a subsidised service doing a unique service in South Leicestershire. This service is
mainly Hail and Ride and each day, Monday to Saturday, is different, giving plenty of variety for the drivers.
We have had some very nice letters about this service, both about the bus and the drivers, as we try to keep a small
number of drivers on it.

We can count on many years experience as West End Travel was founded by John and Janet Penniston in 1972. The West End
Travel name was chosen as the house at the time was West End Villas, adjacent to the present operating base. Some of our staff
have been with the company for almost 40 years; 7 members of staff have over 206 years service between them, averaging
almost 30 years. We have three members of staff with (PSV) PCV operator CPC's and our new training facility
is registered with 'JAOPT' for driver CPC training.
To complement our policy of 'not having all our eggs in one basket' we have a small tour programme, both in the
UK and Ireland and this year we are also going into mainland Europe. We operate tours on behalf of David
Urquhart, and have two coaches in his livery. We also operate railway replacement services.
Our front line coaches are acknowledged to be the best and our customers' feedback confirms this is true. Today's luxury
touring coach is a state of the art machine, with many safety features in-built.
